LETTUCE HOPE

Hello
Hello! I'm Alexander Kush. I founded Lettuce Hope when I was 16 years old because I’ve always believed in the power of second chances.

Growing up, I witnessed the struggles of addiction in my community and saw how access, or lack of access, to recovery programs could make the difference between despair and transformation. That realization pushed me to create a solution.
Through Lettuce Hope, I’m committed to helping individuals reclaim their lives by supporting access to rehab, therapy, and long-term healing. Whether it's funding treatment or championing recovery journeys, I’m proud to stand behind a cause that restores hope and dignity.
Join me in building a future where recovery is possible for everyone.
My Story
When I was younger, I dreamed of creating a path for people to rebuild their lives, especially those struggling with addiction.

I saw firsthand how addiction could devastate individuals and families, and I became obsessed with the idea of helping people get the support they needed to heal. I started researching recovery programs, speaking to therapists, visiting treatment centers, and even trying to connect with organizations that could help fund someone's path to sobriety.
But I quickly realized something troubling: high-quality treatment is expensive, and for many, it’s simply out of reach. I watched people get turned away, not because they lacked motivation, but because they lacked money. Worse, many of the institutions and charities that claimed to help were more concerned with red tape and PR than actually saving lives.
I also met people, especially teens and young adults, who had the desire to change but no support. They were overlooked, underestimated, and left behind. I realized that the help they needed didn’t exist yet. That’s when I knew: if no one else would build it, I would.
Lettuce Hope was born from that vision.

This foundation aims at giving real support to people battling addiction that actually works and helps. Lettuce Hope has become a place where second chances aren't rare, but guaranteed for those who reach for them. What started as a passion project became a mission to restore dignity, healing, and possibility to those who deserve it most.
Today, Lettuce Hope is more than just a nonprofit, it’s a movement. A beacon of hope for individuals ready to turn their lives around, and a community built on belief, not judgment.
Because everyone deserves the chance to begin again.
